situations and the following information is not intended
to be a substitute for formal legal advice. This
information is not intended to replace advice or
instructions given by a legal professional. You should
consult an attorney for individual help and assistance
as it pertains to your particular situation.
GENERAL ADVICE: If you have been charged with a
crime, or if you are in police custody, you have the
right to remain silent and the right to talk to a lawyer
for advice before you answer any questions the police
ask, and you DO NOT have to answer questions from the
police or the prosecutor without your lawyer present.
GENERAL ADVICE: Unless the police have a search
warrant for your house, apartment or vehicle, you DO NOT
have to consent to a search if the police request your
consent to search. However, if the police proceed with
the search anyway, DO NOT offer any resistance to the
search at that time.
GENERAL ADVICE: If the police want to speak with

Attorney’s Fees:
A nominal consultation fee* is charged for all criminal
matters. However, if the firm is retained to represent
the client, the consultation fee is applied to the
actual retainer fee.
Fees are based on the seriousness of the charge, whether
there is one charge or multiple charges, the number of
courts involved and the amount of legal work Attorney
Lyons and his staff will encounter. Fees are not based
on ability to pay. All initial retainers are due and
payable before the start of representation, but with
appropriate credit checks and references, the firm will
consider an affordable payment plan.
*No consultation fee for existing or former clients.
